The National Referral Hospital (NRH) provides secondary to tertiary health care services in Honiara. It has 49 departments covering direct patient care plus corporate services, non-clinical public health services and a nursing education programme. It admits around 14,000 per year.
What You’ll Do
As a VSA Volunteer, you'll immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of the Solomon Islands, aiding the NRH Nursing Director and nursing education staff to develop systems and procedures for the professional development of nurses. You will support the NRH to review its current processes for professional development work and develop a plan for nurses working in the different wards. You will ensure that development plans are contextual and can be implemented with minimal resources.
Your Skills and Experiences
- Bachelor of Nursing degree
- Several years of experience working as a qualified Nurse
- Experience working in surgical and medical wards
- Experience providing training or mentoring others on the job
