Change your scene and become a VSA Volunteer and share your experience, knowledge, and skills to transform the lives of many. Work with our partner organisation to create a fair future for all.
VSA will organise and fund, flights, visas, insurance, accommodation, living allowance and utilities while on assignment.
Please note VSA Volunteers must be a NZ citizen or permanent resident.
About Our Partner Organisation
Samoa Victim Support Group (SVSG) is a non-governmental organisation started in 2005. It was set up by volunteers who were often dealing with the victims of violent crime. There was no place of refuge, nor support for the victims within the Samoan justice system.
Their compassion led to the establishment of SVSG, a community group that could support and counsel the victims of violent crime whilst also protecting and promoting the safety and rights of women, children, and the vulnerable population. SVSG depends on donor partners and agencies to support its operations and community projects.
What You’ll Do
As a VSA Volunteer, you'll immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of Samoa, aiding the SVSG Communications Division to build their capability for the creation of grant and funding proposals, researching and exploring the right financial pathways to discover where proposals can be submitted.
You will assist them by enhancing their capability and capacity to create winning proposals through planning, preparation, writing, editing, and submitting requests. This financial assistance will then enable SVSG to fulfil and deliver its vision of ‘Caring for children, supporting victims and uplifting the vulnerable’.
Your Skills and Experiences
Halfway between Hawaii and New Zealand, Samoa isn't just beautiful, it's steeped in tradition. Family is everything, keeping ancient ways alive alongside a modern parliament. Prepare for warm smiles and a culture that reveres elders and deepens your connection to the land.
