Stephen joined VSA in September 2023 after relocating to Wellington with his Kiwi wife and their young family from Canberra, Australia.
A Scottish Chartered Accountant, EY alumnus, and University of Glasgow graduate, Stephen spent 26 years in Australia working primarily in the not-for-profit/profit-for-purpose sector across several states and territories.
In roles including CFO, General Manager, CEO, and Company Secretary, Stephen’s passion was working in the Community Clubs sector, whose initiatives support organisations with over 65,000 volunteers nationwide.
Prior to seeing the light and moving to New Zealand (not just for a better standard of rugby), Stephen was Chief Financial Officer for the Ainslie Group, the second oldest 'Aussie Rules' Football club in the ACT.
Outside of the office, when not chasing after his children, Stephen has been an active supporter of live performance arts and spent five years, including three as President, on the board of the Australian National Folk Festival. He is also a very proud Life Member of the Queensland Lions Football Club for his services to the Club.
